Yasuski will be performing live in his audioHologram surround-sound setup in a performance featuring live electric guitar, kora, Kyma, traditional Japanese dance, and an ancient Japanese soap opera. Discussion(Eyewitness reports, descriptions, discussion):
The performance blends Japanese traditional dance, electric guitar, Kora, and Yasuski's audioHologram: a 5 channel arrangement where the speakers literally surround both the audience and the performers. The dance is based on an old Japanese story: Genji Monogatari, a three-part story about a really good-looking guy named Genji and a woman named Rokujyou-no-Miyasudokoro who loves him and is jealous of his other girlfriends. She can't show her anger in real life, so at night, she transforms herself into a ghost and curses all her rivals in love.
To create a night ambience, Yasuski used the sounds of American bull frogs and a tiny Japanese frog called "Kajika" that makes a very high frequency like a bird, lives in mountain springs with very clean water, and can only be heard late at night in the deep forest.
Here are some photos from the gig.
