SynC (Garth Paine and Michael Atherton) is performing at the New York Electronic Arts Festival for the entire first half of the concert. All three works use Kyma:
Atmospheric Ripple: Garth plays the flute and uses its amplitude and pitch to control the processing
Cyberdidj Australis for didjeribone (slide didjeridu) and electronics: Garth uses a Wacom tablet (in his signature palette-like style) to control the processing.
Encounter for hurdi-gurdi and electronics: Garth is using the WiiMote to drive the Kyma processing of the hurdi-gurdi.
Sync will also be performing Cyberdidj Australis on the opening night of the NIME (New Interfaces for Musical Expression) conference in NYC on June 7 at 6:30.
Discussion(Eyewitness reports, descriptions, discussion):
On 04 Jun 2007, SynC (Garth Paine and Michael Atherton) performed live with Kyma for the first half of a concert for the New York Electronic Arts Festival. On Atmospheric Ripple, Paine played the flute, using its amplitude and pitch to control the processing. For Cyberdidj Australis for slide didjeridu and electronics, Garth used a Wacom tablet (in his signature, artist's-palette configuration) to control the processing. And on Encounter for hurdi-gurdi and electronica, Garth used the WiiMote to drive the Kyma processing of the hurdi-gurdi. SynC also performed Cyberdidj Australis on the opening night of the NIME (New Interfaces for Musical Expression) conference in NYC on 07 June 2007.
