Question (or Task)
I'm trying to make Sample randomly pick a start point at a trigger. My problem is that the only trigger that seems to work is !Sw01. If I use something like (1 bpm: 60) nextRandom abs in the start field, all I get is digital noise. If I replace the (1 bpm: 60) with !Sw01, it works fine, but I dont want to be in a position where I have to manually trigger the random number. What good are machines if you cant make them do some of the work for you? Ha! So... what do I do? .

Solution(s)
The trigger should be (1 bpm: 60) while the sample start point should be (1 bpm: 60) nextRandom abs and the sample end should be (1 bpm: 60) nextRandom abs + !length or something similar.
Within the prototypes there is pretty much the exact example of what you are requesting. Don't have Kyma in front of me, but I think it is either under sources or sampling.

the sound in questions is under Sampling in the prototypes strip and is called
BPMRandoMini
?
Loop. There are a number of ways to mod the
LoopEnd
?
to get the desired effect.
