Question (or Task)
I want to use a programmable MIDI pedal to control the Master Volume in Kyma. In other words, I want to control the same overall output volume that you can set in the Preferences, control from the Output Level Control Tool, or control from the Rotary on the Motor Mix. But I want to send it as a MIDI Master Volume.
Solution(s)
MIDI Master Volume is one of the Universal Real Time System Exclusive messages in the MIDI standard. Kyma recognizes these messages and interprets them as overall output volume control messages. The format (in hexadecimal) is:
System Exclusive ID
F0H
Realtime category
7FH
Device ID
00H
Device control type
04H
Master Volume ID
01H
14-bit Volume value
LSB MSB
End marker
F7H

Is it possible to do this using OSCulator so as to send the data using the Flame and firewire rather than through a MIDI interface?. Also is it possible to place a command for this in a timeline so as to set the level when the timeline runs? Thanks
