Question (or Task)

I'd love to be able to tinker with sounds on my portable without having Capybara connected. Is it possible?

-- OlleRomo - 10 Jan 2005

Solution(s)

You can use Kyma if you have the Kyma FireWire? interface connected to your computer (whether you have the Capybara connected or not). Some things may not work properly since they rely on the Capybara to function.

Question (or Task)

No possibility to make KYMA able to run on a machine where no Flame is connected?

Request

I too would really like to see a key of some kind that could allow editing away from hardware. This could be a USB key for instance an iLock authorisation. This would allow editing on a plane, in a hotel room etc when one does not have access to hardware (even the flame) and power.

Same request

My golden dream is a standalone mode, too (with a Flame emulation driver?).

Possible Workaround

Kyma + Win98se worked without flame on my setup. I recently switched to XP because Wacom+Kyma can't be used with 98. I can't confirm if 6.22 still work this way. However, I'm considering a dual boot with only 98se and whatever Kyma version that would work. It's so fun to program Kyma in nature, far from electric outlet!
