Problem
After quitting Kyma X I place my finger over the circular button on the front of the Paca. Rather than initiate the usual 5 second countdown to powering off, the display instead goes into side-scrolling mode through the display options. Twice now I have accidentally entered the Master Volume section which is where matters get worse as there is no way to go go back to the main menu, the display is frozen at Master Volume with no way of shutting down. When in this state, the display still goes to sleep and initiates the dancing sprite screen saver like usual; however, there is no way to turn the hardware off...

Solution
The touch strip on the Paca(rana) uses changes in capacitance to determine your finger location. It automatically calibrates to adjust for changes in temperature, humidity, and objects near the touch strip.
Sometimes objects directly in front of the strip (within 2 inches of it) can interfere with accurate finger tracking. Make sure that there are no objects close to the front of the Paca(rana).
