APOGEE ELECTRONICS DUET FIREWIRE AUDIO INTERFACE

The Duet is a stereo audio interface that comes with a Macintosh-only control panel (Maestro) for configuration. The interface can be used with the Paca(rana) whether or not the Maestro control panel software has been installed.

Using the Duet on Windows or on a Macintosh without Maestro

ALERT! When used without the Maestro software, the Duet is configured for XLR microphone inputs and no phantom power. The Maestro control panel is required to control phantom power and to select the input cable.

When the Duet is powered up, its audio outputs are muted. To un-mute the output, press and hold the level adjustment knob until you hear a chirp and the Out indicator light stops blinking.

To control the input and output levels, click the level adjustment knob until the indicator light for the desired input or output is lit. Then, rotate the level adjustment knob.

Using the Maestro Control Panel Software

Complete installation and usage instructions for the Maestro control panel software can be found in the User's Guide provided with the Duet. Please follow the instructions there for installing the software. Once the Maestro software is installed, you can use it to configure the Duet's inputs and phantom power source.

IDEA! When the Paca(rana) is turned off (or disconnected from your Macintosh), the Duet can be used as the audio interface for your Macintosh. When the Paca(rana) is turned on and the the Duet is selected as its audio interface, the Paca(rana) will take over the Duet and prevent audio from being transferred between the Duet and the Macintosh.
