  1. Insert the Kyma X installation CD-ROM into the Macintosh.
  2. Locate the Kyma folder on the CD-ROM and drag that folder to your hard disk. Typically, you would drag the Kyma folder into your Home folder (not the Applications folder).
  3. Some files have been compressed to fit on the CD-ROM. Open the Kyma folder you just copied onto your hard disk. In that folder, double-click on Samples.zip to de-compress the files.
  4. Finally, drag Samples.zip into the Trash.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 on Samples 3rd Party.zip, Spectra.zip, and Tau Files.zip.
  6. At this time you could create a toolbar shortcut for starting Kyma: locate the Kyma X application inside the Kyma folder you just created, and drag the application to the dock.
  7. Alternatively, you could add Kyma to your sidebar: select the Kyma X application inside the Kyma folder you just created, and choose Add to Sidebar from the File menu.
  8. For Mac OS X, use the Display panel in the System Preferences to double-check that your computer screen is set for at least 256 or more colors.
  9. The Kyma software is now installed, so you can close all of the windows that you had opened.
  10. The Kyma documentation is provided in PDF form in the Documentation folder of the Kyma folder. If you do not already have the Adobe Reader 6.0 (or newer) software installed on your computer, we recommend that you visit the Adobe website (http://www.adobe.com) to download and install the free Adobe Reader.
