He born in Bari (Italy) in 1971.
He studied Electronic Music with A. Di Scipio, graduated with full marks in Piano, Electronic Music and Composition courses. In 1998 he graduates as a Specialist in Musical Computer Science at “Tempo Reale”, the musical research, production and didactics centre managed then by Mr L. Berio. There he studied, among others, with D. Arfib, G. Cospito, R. Doati, D. Rocchesso, S. Sapir, M.Tadini, A. Vidolin. Since 1999 he specializes in Composition with Azio Corghi at the Santa Cecilia National Academy, where he take a degree in Composition in 2003.
Works of his are performed at Festivals, among others: "Festival Internazionale di Musica Contemporanea" (L’Aquila, 1996), "Festival Musica e Colore" (Galleria di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino, 1996), "VIII Jornadas Internacionales de Musica Electroacustica" (Cordoba - Argentina, 1997), "I concerti di Tempo Reale" (Firenze, 1998), "Corpi del Suono '98" (L'Aquila, 1998), "XII CIM" (Gorizia, 1998), "Futura99" (Crest – Francia, 1999), "Ruido…" (Messico, 1999), "XIII CIM" (L'Aquila, 2000) and "Rive-Gauche Concerti" (Torino,2001), "Inventionen" (Berlino, 2002), "Warsaw autumn" (Varsavia, 2002) ,”Synthese 2004”(Bourges, 2004).
The composition "..e c’è il risvolto della luce", chamber music for six instruments, was recorded by Edizioni Musicali Cavalieri (1997). "Non d'atro et tempestoso notturno", for flute in C, cello, magnetic tape and live electronics was composed in "Tempo Reale" (1998), "La Guinea", a work for magnetic tape, was recorded by Tracce Edition (1999). His version of John Cage's "Imaginary Landscape" was played by Rai 3 radio. He edited a new version of "Quanta Oscura Selva Trovai", a piece by Giacomo Manzoni, for Ricordi-BMG Publishers.
Dedicated to musical research, he deals with problems about computer modelling of composition processes and live electronics. Therefore, he is started a musical duo with the trombonist Michele Lomuto. Their project has encuraged Corghi, Di Scipio, Manzoni and Tedde to write for the duo.
In Summer 2004, during the 61st Settimana Musicale Senese, he was sound projector for the first performance of “¿Pia?”, a Azio Corghi’s opera. The Swingle Singers was the a cappella choir. The Opera was played by Rai 3 radio.
He was awarded a scholarship by Istituto degli Studi Filosofici Italiani and “Sonus” review (1997) and was a member of the reading panel at the International Computer Music Conference 2001. Among others his articles are printed in Journal of New Music Research (2001), AICA 2002 and Understanding and Creating Music 2002, XIV CIM 2003, Intelligenza Artificiale 2004.
In 1999/2000 he taught Sound Designing in the MAHLER project, a European Community activity to promote employment and human resources improvement. He is also professor of Electronic Music at the "N. Piccinni" Conservatorio in Bari. He is Mr.Corghi, Mr. Bacalov, Mr. Manzoni's assistant for live electronics in summer courses at Accademia Musicale Chigiana where he teaches live electronics since 2001.
