- Bio: Pete Johnston is known among his peers as the "rocket scientist" of sound design and the master of audio morphing. He also came up with the algorithm and wrote the assembly language code for one of the best-loved modules in Kyma: the CrossFilter.
Pete also designed the automated sound modules for processing the main characters robotic voices for a recent full length animated film (international versions only). Sorry but NDA does not allow the film to be named.
Residents of London have all heard his voice on the backing vocals for "Li'll Bill" in the animated Sainsbury car insurance television advertisement. An experienced music audio engineer, Johnston has also done analog electronics design, digital design based on embedded microcontrollers, and C++ and assembly languge programming. He designed the layout and wiring for all of the studios at Tape Gallery where he also did the service and maintenence on their Synclaviers, AMS, SSL, and Sound Tracks desks, and Nuendo software. His favorite tea is PG Tips.
